May Day is Lei Day Here in the Islands

All of us here at Holualoa Inn are getting ready for a weekend filled with beauty, song and dance. Celebrations abound throughout Hawaii Island to celebrate "Lei Day" on Saturday, May 1. Just down the hill, our Holualoa Inn neighbors are hosting a Garden Tour and Thai Lunch to benefit the Kona Outdoor Circle, a non-profit group dedicated to keeping Big Island gardens and roadways lush, green and flowering! The event is planned from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with one tour prior to lunch, the second tour following lunch. The private home and gardens are Thai inspired --thus the lunch menu selection --and gorgeous! Details and reservations: 331-2426. Meanwhile, several Lei Day festivities are planned along the Kona/Kohala "Gold Coast". One, a day-long family favorite that includes various cultural demonstrations, great food, music, hula and other entertainment, will be hosted at Waikoloa Beach Resort's Queen's Marketplace. It's an easy and scenic ocean highway drive (about 30 minutes) from Holualoa Inn. No reservations or entry fee. Wishing you a very special weekend of fun and cultural explorations,
