Big Island Film Festival Begins May12!

Tagged a "Talk Story" film festival, the annual Big Island Film Festival (hosted on the Big Island's spectacular Kohala Coast) celebrates independent narrative filmmakers and their short and feature films -- many of which make their debut here. Several different outdoor and indoor venues at the Mauna Lani Resort (an easy and scenic 40-minute drive from Holualoa Inn) are used throughout the festival keeping things fresh and exciting over the 5-day event (May 12-16). The festival features screenings from Hawaiian filmmakers and independent filmmakers from around the globe. Among this year's highlights, actor Tom Berenger will be honored for his work in film throughout the years, along with filmmaker Scott Stewart. Interviews and award ceremonies honoring these two film industry greats take place Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. at The Shops at Mauna Lani's Ohana Theater -- these two events are open to the public with no entry fee! Visit www.bigislandfilmfestival.com for a complete listing of films, screening times and to purchase tickets.
