Big Island Annual Hawaiian Cultural Festival June 26 & 27

Pu 'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park celebrates its 49th annual cultural festival this weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) at the the beautiful and historically rich Place of Refuge in South Kona. The park is a scenic (think lush tropical greenery, coffee farms and small towns frozen in time) 30 minute drive from Holualoa Inn.  Festivities take place from 9 am to 3 pm and include hula, outrigger canoe rids, sampling traditional Hawaiian foods, lauhala and kapa making, lei-making and  much more! The two day event is complimentary and the usual Park fees have been waived for the weekend of events. Not-to-be-missed!
